History of Hillsboro Rotary Club

Our Founding

The Rotary Club of Hillsboro, Oregon, established on March 13, 1923, has expanded into a vibrant community of enthusiastic professionals dedicated to service and global citizenship. Our organization offers professionals in the wider Hillsboro region a chance to give back to their community, make new connections, forge lasting friendships, and enjoy themselves!

Service Above Self

The Hillsboro Rotary Club is a service-driven organization comprising dedicated professionals who are committed to serving their local and global communities. At Hillsboro, members embody the Rotary mantra of “Service Above Self.”

Our members engage in various service projects both locally and internationally based on their interests. Some of our notable service initiatives include adopting and maintaining Rood Bridge Park, contributing to the Oregon Food Bank by donating and sorting food, supporting the Washington County Family Justice Center, donating refurbished bicycles to disadvantaged children, purchasing new textbooks and calculators for local schools, and supplying textbooks to schools in Uganda and the Philippines.

As a Rotarian, members also have the opportunity to travel to foreign countries and work alongside local Rotary clubs to provide vital services to communities in need. For example, the Hillsboro Rotary Club has constructed sustainable water systems for two villages in Peru and participated in health clinics across Africa as part of Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign to eradicate polio.
